Automobiles in German City Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Authorities mentioned they were contacted by a man who found a vehicle in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Around 50 vehicles have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Officers report they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.

The fluid had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they added.

Police then located many other smeared automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement report initial examinations show the liquid was likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; investigators are presently not cognizant of any injuries in connection with the incident," they commented.

Local authorities said they were working "to resolve the case" and have asked to the public for details.

A senior political figure said the attack rendered him speechless and had to be addressed quickly.

"This act affects the center of Hanau and revives the wounds of the extremist violent incident five years ago," he posted on online, referring to the murder of nine people by a assailant aiming at people of migrant background in 2020.
